The Battle Plans

 

King Harold and Duke William were both excellent commanders.  They both had plenty of experience in battle.

They also both had plans to defeat each other:

 

King Harold
The Saxons

Duke William
The Normans
"I will use my defensive position.  I will create a shield wall.  William will suffer huge casualties attacking uphill.  They will eventually get tired.  Then we will destroy them!" "It will be tough getting through the shield wall.  I will use my cavalry and archers to attack it fiercely.  Perhaps I can trick them into breaking the wall up!  We shall defeat them!"
