Recent events

Christmas Concert - Thursday 14th December

On Thursday evening we had a mini concert in the new performing arts area.  A number of students were involved and gave tremendous performances.  I would just like to say a HUGE thanks to all students who gave up time and worked so hard to make this happen.  Well done!!

Kings Carol Service - Friday 15th December

On Friday 8 students from years 10 and 11 traveled over to Cambridge with Mr Caller and Miss Shannon.  After reversing the minibus we walked over the King's College to join the queues for the well renowned Carol service.  (That is after a sneaky ploy from Mr Caller - shall I say no more)   The Carol service was again stunning and a tremendous experience for all.  Remember to tune in to the radio 4 show on Christmas Eve.

Carol Singing on the bridge - Wednesday 20th December

At 9am we set off from school to go carol singing on the bridge (March town Center) with many already waiting at the venue.  Mrs Richardson arranged the collection tins for Save the Children and then we were set to start.  A great performance was given by all and the public enjoyed this traditional event.  In two and a half hours we managed to raise a staggering £350.  Tremendous work!  I am sure we are all looking forward to this event again next year.

What else can I get involved with?

Pinafore Pirates

This year we are running a school show.  We need lots of people, especially more boys!!  Rehearsals are every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3.30 to 4.30, with more as we get nearer the performance dates.

Shake, Rattle and Roll

This is a 60's musical with lots and dancing and singing.  Set in an American ice-cream parlor we are sure for a lot of laughs.  Auditions have taken place but we would still welcome more boys.  The show is being managed and directed by Mr Bently.  For extra help with songs please don't hesitate to come and ask me (Miss Shannon) for a lunch time so we can go through the songs - All principle parts should arrange a time soon after the Christmas holidays.

What do I do if I want to start playing an instrument?

There is a fee for learning instruments depending on the length of lesson time.  Charges are approximately £45 a term.  If you would like to start an instrument you will first need to ask your parents.  If your parents agree then come and talk to any member of the music department and we will arrange something.
