Dave's "Pitts Special" - built at the same time as Richard's - before Richard's had been test flown showing great faith in the designer. |

Mick's - "Dave Smith Model's" "Panther" modified for electric with a slightly deeper fuselage - uses Aveox 1406/4Y with Astro 2.38:1 gearbox on sixteen 1700 SCRC cells - flight performance is good but standard undercarriage was not up to the job. A.U.W. 4lbs 14oz. |

Tony Handley's Thunder Tiger ARTF fun-fly. Irvine 46 + mouse. Very good value at £70, some similar kits cost as much. Good build quality, reasonable quality accessories with the exception of the snakes. The rudder snake broke on first landing when the tailwheel touched down, the landing wasn't that too awful so I was a bit surprised. A.U.W. 5lb 8oz. |

Tony Handley's Zagi is hard to launch
and dislikes quick or excessive control input (rapid wing drop/spin). Bought 90% built at
Sandown, speed 400 6 volt, 7 x 500mAh, Jeti Rx and speed controller. A.U.W. 19 oz. |

Mick Saxton's - "Airplanes Etc." "Baby Boss" fitted with OS 25 FX - this engine is too big & too heavy for this plane - resulting in excessive speed - and unrelaxing flights. |

Mick Saxton's - Mustang P1D from "Rojair" kit fitted with OS 45Fx and retracts - goes well when take-off does not result in a flick roll! |

It is a standard Hi-Boy airframe, 62" wingspan. Each nacelle was sized to fit one OS 25, its fuel tank and a mini-servo to operate the throttle. The nacelles are fitted below the wing and their structure goes through into the two wing spars. All up flying weight is about seven pounds, the thrust from the two 25's easily getting the whole thing airborne in only a few yards.
The very effective half-span flaps which are fitted actually slow the landing speed down to below that of a normal 4 channel Hi-Boy. So far it has flown 10 flights and whilst it will fly on one engine, it goes and sounds so much better on two! |
