| Museum to Target Primary, Secondary and High School pupils/students |
|---|
During the first five years of the new Millennium Musa Heritage Gallery is pulling Primary, Secondary and High School pupils/students as its main target group. It is hoped that these pupils and students will, after a visit to the Museum, take the message home to their families and friends to develop interest in the artistic and cultural heritage of their nation. This will finally result in a greater community participation by the year 2004, Peter Musa, Museum Director anticipates. To achieve this goal, Musa Heritage Gallery counts on the collaboration of primary, secondary and high schools. There are plans to engage in massive sensitization with Headmasters and Principals of schools in parts of Bui and Donga Mantung Divisions. This initiative falls in line with the recommendation arrived at during the 6th PREMA (Prevention in Museums in Africa) review meeting in March 1998 which called for a launch of a new five - year programme to be launched as from year 2000 in Sub-Saharan African Museums in developing activities which are based on community needs and most specifically on the needs of children. |
