Ralph Mbinkar's Palace
Palace
This object was made in 2000 by 13 year old Ralph Mbinkar. He is a student at the Mantum Technical College. This was Ralph's idea of what the presidential palace in Yaounde looked like. He has never been to Yaounde. The Cameroon flag, communication dishes and a security helicopter are all components of this sophisticated building. The house was constructed using bamboo. At the doorway is the guard. A palace in Lamnso (Nso' language) is known as Ntoh. This young craftsman specialises in making such works during holidays. Ralph has been featured in the BBC Focus on Africa Magazine.
