LINKS
Some links to a few of my favourite sites and some of my favourite people.
Chesca Potter – Artist, Writer, Visionary and the most spiritually uplifting person I know. Creator of the Greenwood Tarot and illustrator of the Celtic Shaman Pack and numerous other books. I suspect she might be a goddess.
British Druid Order – Speaking of spiritually uplifting. Not so much a religion as an intent to live life with awareness (or should that be awen-ness!). Read Philip Shallcrass’s essay on Awen. In fact read it all.
Loreena McKennitt – It’s a cliché but: The world is made up of two people – those who have heard Loreena McKennitt and those who are going to. Canadian singer/songwriter (and she plays the harp) with the most fae sound going. Eerie, mystical and beautiful.
Ardival Harps - Both of my harps were crafted by Ardival Harps of Strathpeffer, which makes them Scottish harps rather than Irish harps. To prevent any accusations of bias I refer to them as Celtic harps or more properly as Clarsachs. Ardival call the harps The Rose and The Kilcoy. I call them other names, but that's between me and them! Also to be found at Ardival is my good friend and only teacher, Bill Taylor. Bill is a unique character and his workshops, demonstrations, concerts and harp holidays are an experience not to be missed!
Robert Holdstock - My favourite author bar none. Read his Mythago cycle, in particular (and starting with) Mythago Wood. A lot of my thoughts on analeptic memory and archetypes are reflected in his novels. Many of the same themes appear in his novels and my stories. In fact a couple of my tales have come from his novels (used with permission!).
Alison Davies - My favourite local author and poet. Alison writes urban fantasy/horror and some very mystical poetry. I think my favourite is 'Tree Magic' - but that's only this weeks choice!
