About My World in French..... Background Ten years ago I was approached to teach French to nursery children and in after-school clubs in my local area. My French parentage and degree stood me in good stead to take up the offer of starting such an undertaking from scratch. I immediately became aware that there were limited resources to support nursery & primary school French education programmes. My previous teaching experience in France and in an independent prep school in England, along with raising three children, made me well aware of the benefits of playing games to stimulate learning. With that in mind I designed and made my own games, songs and worksheets to use in the classroom. A resource for all abilities Over the years I have created a wealth of materials for teaching French and have consolidated much of it to produce the current My World in French resource. The games are suitable for the use from Foundation level through to Key Stage 2, supporting many National Curriculum topics. Games can easily be adapted to suit students of all abilities. Some games are suitable for lower ability Key Stage 3 students and all are recommended as an enjoyable and interesting means of revising core vocabulary during French education. Positive Feedback Trials have
been carried out in schools and have proved successful, backed with
positive feedback from teachers. |
