Year 7 Science
Scientific Investigations
Guidance for Teachers and Parents.
Although it is possible to identify the skills and concepts required for scientific investigations it should be borne in mind that investigating is a process where all elements overlap. It would be wrong to restrict the pupils to the content of one particular lesson in this section at a time. For example, predicting and planning are interrelated and for many pupils will be developed along side each other.
The context is also important and should be chosen so that pupils can come to appreciate the relevance of science and scientific investigations to everyday life.
The lessons need not be tackled in the order shown and should be revisited to reinforce learning.
Lesson 1 - Predicting
