  Introduction
  Students will probably be aware of the term global warming but this is likely to involve misconceptions about its nature and causes. The warm up quiz can be used alone or in conjunction with media articles.

  To identify and explore student misconceptions in relation to global warming.

  Activity notes
  An article reproduced from the BBC online news archive can be used to stimulate discussion on the nature of global warming and the green house effect. Some further questions and headlines are provided on the introductory page to further stimulate discussion. Internet links to other archive article are provided below. The quiz has elements of fun but can be used to identify students incorrect ideas on climate change.
