Activity 2- The Greenhouse Effect and the Greenhouse Factor

  Introduction
The greenhouse effect is essential to maintain life and ecosystems on the planet Earth. This activity is designed to help students realise this by reference to the atmosphere on other planets in the solar system.
  Aims of this activity
Make students aware that global warming if it is occurring may be due to an increase of the essential greenhouse effect.

The Greenhouse Effect activity compares the average temperature of Earth and Venus. The indication is that carbon dioxide and temperature are related.

The Greenhouse Factor activity requires students to input data into a spreadsheet and interpret atmospheric amounts and the warming factor of gases in the atmosphere.
