| Introduction | ||
| The 2000 revision of the National Curriculum for Science has brought to the fore the necessity for students to look more closely at 'ideas and evidence' in the context of scientific enquiry - Sc1.One suggestion in the programme of study is the possible causes of global warming. | ||
| Aims of this activity | ||
| The initial activities ask the students to look at the media's perspective on global warming. They look at what global warming means to them and clarify any misconceptions they or the media may have about the nature of the phenomena. The main thrust of the activities is data analysis and manipulation. Students are encouraged to use ICT resources in this process. Students will be required to make their own decisions as to whether the available evidence is sufficient to support the idea that global warming is occurring and as to the nature of the cause. | ||
