ABOUT AU-PAIRS

An Au-pair is an unqualified, and possibly inexperienced person who comes from certain overseas countries with a view to learn the English language and gain an insight to our culture. They will do light housework plus some childcare for up to 25 hours per week. In return they will receive room and board and pocket money in the region of £45. They should not be left for long periods of time unsupervised with small babies or toddlers. Their function should never be as a substitute for a nanny but rather as an extra pair of hands. At Nannies Plus we do not recruit Au-pairs directly from overseas as we prefer to meet the candidates personally and will not take on an Au-pair who does not have a checkable U.K. reference.
