The Anglo-Omani Society was formed in January 1976, and is now incorporated in England as a private company limited by guarantee, reg. no. 6708685.  It is registered as a charity under reg. no. 1127561 and its registered office address is Somers, Mounts Hill, Benenden, Kent TN17 4ET.

H.M. The Sultan of Oman is the Society’s patron, and the President is H.E. the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman in London.

H.M. The Sultan has most generously made a donations to the Society, and this has been used to fund events and make grants that meet the charitable objects of the Society. The Chairman of the Society would welcome applications for further grants, or specific proposals for use of this fund.   Applications are considered by the Committee of the Society at meetings held throughout the year, and a report on the  use of the fund is made at the Society's Annual General Meeting

Membership of the Society is open to Omanis and to British subjects who have resided in Oman, or who have commercial, cultural or other interests there. Commercial and other organisations may become Corporate Members, Associate Membership is open to persons and companies of other nationalities.

The annual subscriptions are as follows:

Individual Membership £6.00

Corporate Members £l00.00

Corporate members may nominate up to four employees as Society members.

The Society’s financial year runs from 1st April – 31st March, and all subscriptions are renewable on 1st April. The method of payment is by Banker’s order, and a form for this is included with the Membership Application Form.

The Society arranges a regular programme of events mostly talks and lectures given by well-known and experienced speakers, specialists in their own fields. These events are normally held in London. Members may bring guests to these events at a cost of £5 per head. An Annual Luncheon and certain other special events are offered to members at an extra cost.
