Welcome to our Website – so what is of interest for you?

Our members and regulars will know what they want.

For visitors, for whom the result of our Monday Duplicate is probably less than riveting, check out the Newsletter Section: This is edited by Len Armstrong, author of 'The Final Deal', and contains some excellent articles and stories.

Bridge Miscellany  has some amusing diversions.

Premises and location tells you a little more about us and how to find us.

The tuition section contains handouts and teaching materials for any 'Improvers' without access to classes (but are no substitute for classes, since practice is a vital component of learning and the presence of a teacher to explain things is paramount), or for teachers who want some ideas or material.

The Movements  section gives some layouts that may be easier to follow than the often abbreviated versions you find in the textbooks and the remedies for errors occurring in the common duplicate movements could be very useful.

Finally, if you like that sort of thing you can always read our Constitution! Which includes Bye-laws.

Click on the links below to move to those areas; links on those pages will allow you to move about - in particular the top link 'Newcastle' will always return you to this page.

If you like to play bridge but only have a PC for a partner then you can try out 15 free deals from DaBriSoft’s Declarer Play software package.

This demo version can be downloaded from the following website: http://www.hiltonproperty.co.uk/BRIDGE/

This computer application is for all players who want to improve their declarer bridge game. You can choose to play match points (pairs scoring) or IMPs (teams scoring).  The bidding process and the final contract are presented to you at the beginning of each deal. So all you need to do is make a plan and take the correct declarer decisions! You are allowed to make any legitimate play that you want to, taking into account the information gained from your opposition’s bids (and their pass calls).

At the end of the deal there is a play-back summary, detailing the optimum play (order of cards) to achieve your contract (and overtricks). But of course you will not need that option, will you?

When you have finished the deal, the following is displayed:

A score sheet where your result is compared with the results of 11 other players
Your current position in the tournament
