Bridge Tuition

Here you will find materials used for teaching. Mostly for Improver's (second level) classes.

They can be used as a resource for teachers, to help in creating their own course materials.

It must be emphasised that these handouts were put together, for teaching purposes (quite deliberately comprehensive; most beginners would be given the 'bare bones', but I believe that later they should have a resource which will stand them in good stead for many years to come). They cannot be assimilated properly without recourse to a qualified teacher. A teacher can explain, clarify, answer questions and give the opportunity to play appropriately prepared hands.

I define the aims of an Improver's Course in the following way:

"To give players who have a basic knowledge of the game the opportunity to consolidate their understanding of the basics, eliminate any misconceptions they may have, improve their existing skills, increase their repertoire in bidding, declarer play and defence. To provide practical experience in a friendly environment with expert tuition".

Our classes, for beginners and improvers, Start the first Tuesday in September at 7-30 pm, and each Tuesday thereafter until May.
