Well hello there! Welcome to my
website, you will find residing within much information related to programming (which is what n!'s do best!).
Although this site is still very early in development it should improve with
age. For those who don't know, n! is mathematical notation for n-factorial a
pretty scary large number, although I'm not actually that scary myself :) First and foremost, this site contains information on my free 3D modeling, rendering and animation package 'Mantra'. More information on this application can be found by clicking the image on the left. For those of you who want to get into 3D programming, I've also uploaded some tutorials and example programs to introduce you to Direct3D, my personal favorite 3D API. Do I hear gasps of amazement from the OpenGL community? Yes, I prefer D3D to OGL, it's amazing the amount of information out there on OpenGL compared to that available for D3D. So I thought I'd help out and add some D3D material for those looking to get started with this API. All examples are written using Visual C++.NET. For those of you still reeling from that last statement, I'm about to floor you with the next... I love Microsoft! Despite the hoards of people clamoring to throw abuse their way, Microsoft continue to impress me with the professionalism of their products and the quality of their engineers. All the Linux owners continue to try and impress upon people how much better it is compared to Windows, but I have to disagree. Sure Linux is a very well written OS (I do like Linux!) and it's fun to use if you're of a technical nature but the big picture is most people are not of a technical nature. Linux continues to make strides in its usability, but it's still a far cry from Windows. I should point out that I'm not saying OGL or Linux are bad (I've enjoyed using both) as they are both great products and I'm not blinded by the fact I like Microsoft. I've tried all the products and I've just ended up preferring Microsoft's offerings. For those of you interested, I now have a blog at http://nfactorial.blogspot.com lets hope I post to it enough to make it worthwhile :) Anyway I'm coming to the end of this title page, make your selection on the left and journey through the items I offer that interest you (if any). I hope you find something useful within my ramblings. If you're left with any questions you can email me at nfactorial@btopenworld.com although please be patient waiting for replies as I may be busy. n!
