Chickens

October 2005
We now have four warrens and the bantam maran, Alex. Sadly, another fox attack took Ethel. We have cleared the land to build the run and should have it done for Spring.

Summer 2005
We have just two small chickens at the moment - a bantam maran called Alex and a cuckoo pekin called Ethel. We orginally had three in October 2004, but a fox took one. They lay an egg or two per day and free-range in the garden. However, because of the ever-present foxy threat, I plan to build an enclosure this Winter (2005/6) and then add four or six hybrids.
