The Ornamental Garden

When I say ornamental garden I mean everything that doesn't fit in elsewhere. The back garden serves no productive purpose, nor does the part of the garden nearest the house. I guess I should also include the bits near the bottom of the garden which we call the football pitch, the bottom lawn. The pond now has its own page describing its construction.
At Christmas 2004, I bought my partner a willow arch kit which we erected on the way down to the pond. A few leftover bits were used to frame a seat across the then pond-to-be. It's all growing really well and looking great.
The replanting of the back garden which I did a few years ago is maturing nicely and starting to look good. I'm still undecided about how to renovate the top front garden - at the moment I'm thinking of a secluded and tranquil space. Last Summer we bought a swinging chair to put in this part and it's very popular and also secluded which has given me the idea to further enclose the space. But for now, we sit on the chair at night, drinking wine, watching the stars and dreaming and planning....
