Hurt Pride
Hurt by something done or something said,
To put it from your mind and think instead.
But by no means is this an easy thing to do,
Because we remember hurts we caused too
Perhaps we are all to quick to take offence,
And erect needless ramparts for our defence.
Resentment is poison and its effect spread,
Pocket your hurt pride and forget things said.
