Why

Why does it always rain when forecast say dry
And when I got money there is nothing to buy.
Why do visitors call when I am ready to go out?
Or when my shoes, clothes are strewn all about.
Why not come when the place is clean and bright
Or an evening when it’s football on the telly night.
Why do I forget to purchase the cheese and wine?
When boss and significant other half come to dine.
Why is there no drink when I have an empty glass?
Traffic lights always at red must wait can’t pass.
Why do outsized people sit by me on the bus?
And if I complain I am told not to make a fuss.
Why is there always a grating where I drop a key?
When the workmen arrive its time for a cup of tea
Why always the last bus disappearing from sight?
utility prices increase before the coldest night.
Why do I ask question that no one seems to know?
I’ll go on asking until someone tells me where to go.
