Nigel Wears
I am delighted to announce that Charles M0OXO and I will
be active on Les Minquiers Island (EU-099) for the Islands on the Air
contest of 2008. Les Minquiers is around 12 miles south of Jersey.
We will be using the call sign GB8LMI and we hope to be active from 23rd
July. During the IOTA contest we will be using the short contest call
MJ0X
Rest assured that we'll be trying to get as many of you in the log as
we can and move Les Minquiers right down the most wanted list!
Activation
of Les Minquiers Island begins in
Operating at International Lighthouses
on the Air weekend 2007 from Flamborough Lighthouse (ENG-042), Yorkshire
with my dog, Oscar.
I was first licenced as M3NJW in March 2003 and then progressed through
to the full licence in September 2005.
I enjoy portable operation and this site aims to be a source of information
as to what I'm doing in this respect.
QSL route is either direct via the address on QRZ.com, or via the RSGB
bureau.
I can often be heard operating the club station MX0SSW from Silcoates
School in Wakefield. I am the founder of the club at the school, and
we now have twelve licenced pupils.
I am a member of North
Wakefield Radio Club and CDXC.
