A new cross party Parliamentary Motion is calling on Government to protect consumers from short beer measures in the forthcoming Weights and Measures legislation, by defining a pint of beer as 100%. liquid.

MP's have also expressed concern at Government proposals to redefine a pint as "not less than 95% liquid". This would give dishonest licensees a green light to short change consumers. Over 15 million beer drinkers lose out because of short measure.
