Welcome to Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) in SUFFOLK
There are currently about 1500 active CAMRA members in Suffolk. Between them they have campaigned regularly on various important local issues such as preventing local (especially rural) pub closures, preventing loss of pub character, improving beer QUALITY, promotion of a wider range of tasty REAL ALES, helping to raise the profile of a new generation of small independent local craft micro-brewers, raising awareness of the scandal of short measure, and they also continue to campaign for a reform of pub opening hours - YOU CAN JOIN them in their on-going pub and beer quests...
Also along the way they try to have a lot of fun and organise a wide variety of social events throughout the year - contact your local branch to find out more details - CURRENTLY there are 3 local branches - IPSWICH & EAST SUFFOLK , NORTH EAST SUFFOLK and WEST SUFFOLK - the approximate geographic areas they cover are shown on the map below (bounded by the black dots). PLEASE visit their respective branch web pages to discover what each branch is currently doing or is planning to do next.

The map also shows how the local authorities divide the county into seven administrative districts (orange)

A joint local newsletter is also produced. This is distributed FREE in local pubs or by subscription - it is called Last Orders.
