Established 1966
SR Newman (Contractors) Limited is a Private Limited Company and has been since February 1977. Trading previous to this as a partnership since 1966. The main works for the company is civil engineering, along with development and new housing spec build. The Company has enjoyed continued growth and has plans to expand its civil engineering and house building over the forthcoming years.
During its life the company has achieved a reputation for producing a high standard of work within strict financial constraints and to specified programmes.
The company has comprehensive indemnity insurance to the value of 10 million
pounds.
S R Newman is a member of the National House Building Council
The company directors are all actively involved within the running of the company.
Technical.
Our Company employs a Contracts Manager and fully skilled Site Project Engineers all of which have been employed by the company for over 15 years. This technical team has been engaged on working for clients such as Guildford Borough Council, Surrey County Council, and other local authorities and private companies throughout this time gaining invaluable experience in all aspects of construction projects.
Safety.
The company considers safety paramount to all of its activities. Training
and implementation of safety procedures is carried out under the control of
our Safety Officer who reports directly to the
Company Managing Director.
Construction Operatives.
The construction operatives are directly employed by the company, our workforce is very skilled, trained and above all motivated to the task at hand. We believe that having directly employed operatives gives our company more control to be able to set the right operatives to undertake any complex or difficult projects.
Resources.
The company has a very extensive range of fully maintained vehicles, plant and equipment, from 360' excavators, tipper lorries and JCB excavators to small items of plant such as pumps, generators and compressors
