Dear Commodore
REF : PEACE MAKING IN KOSOVO
We the Women for Natural Law are giving
you 1000 flowers as a symbol of our wish
to see a group of at least 1000 real peace makers
established in Kosovo. This group,
a fraction of the 21,000 British servicemen about to be
deployed in Kosovo, would be
trained in the techniques of Transcendental Meditation
and Yogic Flying, techniques
now scientifically validated as being able to create
peace in hostile environments.
Our request to you is to ask you to
encourage government to enhance or replace the
NATO deployment of ground forces with a coherence
creating group of several
thousand Yogic Flyers, so as to raise the level of
coherence in the international
consciousness of the Balkan Region. The effect of such a
group would be a dramatic
transformation of Balkan affairs in the direction of
peace. It will create such an
integrated and harmonious field of consciousness that
violent thoughts will simply not
arise.
Many centuries ago, the Vedic sage
Patanjeli, declared that " in the vicinity of yoga,
hostile tendencies disappear. " This basic
phenomenon for thousands of years
remained concealed, in a world shrouded in ignorance. But
in recent generations, as
the level of collective consciousness has been raised,
the truth of this statement has
been able to reveal itself, and scientists have been able
to measure and record the
phenomenon in a variety of circumstances in various parts
of the world. Over forty
papers now testify to this reality, many of them
published in reputable peer review
journals.
The logic of Patanjeli's truth, seems
self-evident. You create an end to violence with
peace, as you create an end to darkness with light. But
we are generally so locked into
our old world view, that what is common sense and
logical, from our old perspective
seems impossible, incredible, even laughable.
In 1993 several of us were fortunate enough to
participate in a demonstration ot this
phenomenon in Washington DC. The demonstration was over
seen by an independent
review body of 24 academics and other professionals
responsible for establishing the
research protocol throughout the demonstration. According
to police statistics crime
rates during the eight week period of the demonstration
fell by 15% [*] against the
predicted rates for the same period. This research has
this week been published in a
peer review journal, and similar research showing
reductions in war deaths in the War
in the Lebanon, was several years ago published in The
Journal of Conflict
Resolution.
What we are describing here is a new
technology for peace, a new weapon of Natural
Law that is nourishing and peace creating. Its deployment
can erase the memory of
Hiroshima and the use of weapons of mass destruction that
we have witnessed this
century, as well as some of the tragic consequences of
the current NATO action.
The choice for our generation is whether
to go for destruction, or to rise above
destructive power and go for the nourishment of all life
on earth through the
technologies of Natural Law.
At this point in time we as a movement
are doing what we can do with our own
resources to help the situation in Kosovo. We have a
group of about 100 meditators
participating in a programme in Belgrade, and we have set
up an international group
of several hundred near by in Croatia; but these groups
are limited by our resources.
To create and maintain peace in the Balkans, a much
larger group is needed. The
group may initially comprise civilians already trained in
these techniques, but could
eventually with government and military support, be made
up of volunteer
servicemen who wished to go through the training
themselves. The cost of
maintaining such a group of real peace keepers in the
Balkans is significant but
minimal in comparison to the bombardment of recent weeks.
We hope that you accept these flowers
with the sincerity with which they were given.
If you find that you do not personally have enough vases
to keep them fresh, we
would be happy if you could find a way of distributing
them to the wives of the
servicemen already deployed in the Balkans.
With kindest regards
Yours sincerely
Alicja Andreasik
