Below is a 'screen-save' from the web site of the Russian Newspaper 'Izvestia'. It captures an article published the day after the 9/11 attacks. The article confirms detailed Russian foreknowledge of the attacks. The 'screen save' was taken February 2004.
Beneath the article is a translation provided by the 'What Really Happened' (WRH) web site which also posted an image of the article some time ago (well before the screen-save shown here). Links to the WRH image are also provided below.
The principal difference between the two versions of the image of the web page is that the earlier WRH version contains an extra initial paragraph. As at February 2004 this paragraph was not on the Izvestia web page for the article. This implies one of the following:
The WRH web site provides the following translation of this first paragraph:
"Yesterday at the headquarters of Central Intelligence Service in Langley a confidential meeting between one of the Deputy Directors of CIA and a special messenger of Russian Intelligence Service took place. According to NewsRu sources he delivered to his American colleagues some documents including audio tapes with telephone conversations directly relating to terrorist attacks on Washington and New York last Tuesday. According to these sources, Russian Intelligence agents know the organizers and executors of these terrorist attacks. More than that, Moscow warned Washington about preparation to these actions a couple of weeks before they happened."
In order to verify the general accuracy of the WRH translation we have put the current Izvestia version of the article through the internet translator 'Babelfish'. A copy of this is provided also below, confirming that the WRH translation is generally reliable for those sections which appear in both versions.
As at 31 May 2002 the much respected 'From the Wilderness' web site also carried (and continues to carry) a copy of the Izvestia report complete with initial paragraph (see - http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/izvestia_story_pic.html ).
FTW also provides a translation (which in fact appears to be the source of the WHR material) and states that the image of the Russian text is of "the story that was originally presented by Izvestia. The story that they currently have on their website has ommitted the first paragraph completely".
FTW confirms that the complete version came into its possession "thanks to former CIA counter-terror case officer, Leutrell Osborne .... The story had been brought to his attention by his Russian-speaking son and had fortunately been saved in its original form before it was sanitized of several key sentences".
With or without the first paragraph, in either case the article raises significant questions about Russian foreknowledge of the attacks that may have been imparted to the US.
