Euro Elections 1999 NLP European Election Manifesto - Summary (UK) Natural Law
Unites - Creating a Truly United Europe as the First Step
to a United World The Natural Law Party is fast becoming a global
political force. It is active in over 80
countries. The Natural Law Parties of Europe have
agreed a common manifesto for these elections, and are
running over 500 candidates across Europe. The
immediate goal of the Natural Party is to bring the
barbaric war in Kosovo to an end through creating
coherence in the collective consciousness of the
continent by establishing a group of 7,000
practising Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying in
the region. In the absence of such coherence, efforts to create unity in the wider Europe through artificial means such as the creation of a single currency can also only create new tensions, dangers and conflicts in the family of European nations. A truly peaceful, progressive and united Europe has to be created on a more profound basis - one which fosters natural respect and co-operation between member states, and one which nurtures the culture and sovereignty of every nation. The creation of coherence through the establishment groups of yogic flyers in all member states is the only proven way to achieve these very necessary goals at this critical time in British and European history. This unique approach will also enable us to implement the following strategies for Britain and the continent: Constitution The principle of subsidiarity in the EU will be replaced by putting the sovereignty, independence and self-sufficiency of every member state first. No member state will be forced to accept a treaty or directive from the Union at any time. Creating coherence will ensure that only appropriate measures are put forward by fellow member states in an atmosphere of genuine consensus. Decentralisation of administration at national and local levels will also be introduced as levels of coherence increase and the ability of communities and citizens to manage their own affairs develops. Defence, Foreign Policy and Enlargement A common military force will not be established. However, the same coherence creating measures will be taken in all member states to ensure genuine security. The only true security for Europe lies in securing the real friendship of all other nations, and not by posing a bigger threat with a large military. A ban on all arms exports will be introduced. To encourage stability and prosperity in countries beyond the EU, aid programmes will be implemented which deliver self-sufficiency, reductions in debt, and the creation of coherence in the national collective consciousness of all countries receiving aid. Similar assistance will be provided to countries seeking entry into the Union. Entry will only be permitted, however, once satisfactory levels of coherence have been created in applicant countries. Quality of life indices measuring economic, social and environmental trends will be used to assess adequate levels of coherence in the collective consciousness of each applicant country. European Economy It is highly dangerous to introduce a single currency in economically unstable conditions such as at present. A single currency can only be contemplated under conditions of genuine economic stability and the preservation of nation sovereignty. The real basis of the economy is not maintained through the artificial macro-economic management strategies of governments but by the creativity and productivity of the population. These will be fostered by creating coherence in the consciousness of every member state through the unique programmes of the Natural Law Party. Only when this coherence is created - as measured by new stability criteria including quality of life indicators - can a single currency be contemplated by the British people. But only if they so wish. At that point a referendum will be held. It will include an option to retain the pound as a symbol of national sovereignty in addition to the use of the Euro. If a decision to adopt the Euro is taken (with or without the retention of the pound) the Central European Bank will be made directly accountable to member states and their central banks. EU Budget Extensive published
scientific research shows that the health and education
programmes of the Natural Law Party dramatically increase
economic productivity and reduce sickness, as well as
reversing other negative social trends such as crime.
The implementation of the Natural Law Partys
programmes in all member states will provide savings of
at least £945 billion a year within four years across
the Union. This will facilitate budget and tax
reductions across the whole territory commencing with the
phasing out of VAT. With the exception of certain
aspects of agricultural policy, assistance to poorer
regions of the Union will be chiefly in the form of
interest free loans linked to specific programmes to
ensure recipients become self-sufficient within an
acceptable period of time. The programmes will
include coherence creating projects. Common Agricultural Policy Subsidies for industrialised, agrochemical-dependent conventional agriculture will be gradually phased out. Resulting savings will be used in three ways: to reduce the EU budget; to fund education and research projects to develop more sustainable systems of agriculture - especially organic farming - and to make them more productive; to fund integrated rural development programmes and assistance to areas of special need. Educational programmes will be implemented to restore the dignity of farmers in the eyes of the public and to raise the awareness of everyone to the importance of fresh locally grown food for promoting health and the quality of our environment. The high standards of such production will be resolutely protected against imports of products of inferior quality from outside Europe. Genetically modified food The growing of genetically modified crops, and all imports of genetically modified food, will be banned.
