WINCHESTER'S PAPER FOR WINCHESTER'S PEOPLE

On the campaign trail

The following extract on the NLP by-election campaign appeared in the Winchester Extra Thursday 13th November 1997

The Natural Law Party launched their election campaign in Winchester this week with a press conference in which they called for the holistic approach to government.

Deputy Party Leader Peter Warburton was in the city to promote Rosemary Barry's bid for votes.

Speaking at the conference he said: "Happiness of the individual should be at the centre of politics.

"Life has to be brought in accord with natural law."

"The policy of the party is to bring the intelligence of nature into the field of politics."

Endorsing alternative approaches to medicine and education he said the party had a good deal of support in Winchester and that one of the main issues was seeking a sustainable lifestyle.

Mrs Barry added: "Our view of government is holistic and addresses every facet of the nation's life by tackling things not only at the level of collective consciousness but also through the encouragement of the balanced evolution of the individual"
