NEWS FROM THE SHOWS
An additional show for the BFS this year will be the Western Show on Sunday 22nd August. The location is the Gordano School, St Mary’s Road, Portishead, Bristol BS207QR. The organiser for this show is John Nicholass who can supply any further details. Copies of both schedules are available for members to see. Contact Richard Stapley 0121 831292. There will be plant sales etc. so both worth a visit.
EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
The RHS at Rosemoor are holding a Grow It – Show It local produce show on Saturday 21st August, judging takes place at 10.00am and the marquee will be open to the public at its conclusion.
The society has been invited to an inter-society quiz to be held by Braunton Horticultural Society on Tuesday November 2nd to be held in the Braunton Parish Hall at 7.30pm. We are looking for volunteers for this evening, please contact Les Bowen if you feel you can help out the NDFS. Refreshments will be available and the person with the highest score in the audience will receive a small prize.
Fremington Gardening club are also holding there annual quiz on November 17th and again a team from our Society has been requested, please contact Les Bowen if you can help.
Fremington gardening club has invited Sarah Chesters from RHS Rosemoor to give a talk on 20th October and her subject will be “Late Season Colour”. Tickets are priced at £3.00 please contact Jean Miller 01271 376015 for tickets and more details.
