The Northampton Scout Amateur Radio Group provides Radio Scouting
and associated technology based activities for Scouts in the Northampton area.

The next Radio Group meeting will be held on

The
Scouting 100 Radio Award was awarded for contacting Scout stations during 2007, the Centenary year of Scouting. This is an International award - it is also available on a listener basis, with the same requirements as the operator award.

GB100J at the 21st World Scout Jamboree

Between 24th July and 8th August 2007 both the 21st World Scout Jamboree in Chelmsford in the United Kingdom and Brownsea Island were on the air with their own, fully equipped amateur radio stations. Both offered a radio programme to the participating Scouts. More>>>

The annual Jamboree on the Air gives all sections of our Movement the opportunity to contact Scouts all over the world. Beaver Scouts visited our station last year and had such a good time that they are visiting us again soon.
                                  

51st Jamboree on the Air -
a weekend of Radio Scouting fun!

 
18th - 19th October 2008 - All kinds of Radio Scouting activities will be available  for Scouts to take part in at Jamboree on the Air this year. Why not send a greetings message to Scouts on the other side of the world. Radio Scouting and the New Scout Training Programme
 
The Scout training programme provides opportunities for Radio Scouting and associated technology based activities in all sections. Requirements for some of the Challenge Awards and the International Friendship Award can be completed and Activity Badges are also available.

 

 Information Technology  Staged Activity Badges

The Information Technology staged activity badges offer a young person the opportunity of gaining an award appropriate to their individual level of knowledge. Staged badges are available to all sections from Beavers through to Scout Network.

Marconi Explorer Scout Unit - Specialising in Radio Scouting

The Marconi Explorer Scout Unit was founded on 19th October 2002 during Northampton Scout Amateur Radio Group's 21st birthday celebrations. The first Explorer Scouts were invested early in 2003.                                          More>>>
