50th Jamboree on the Air
20th - 21st October 2007
|
In the Beginning... The first Jamboree on the Air was held in 1958 following the success of the amateur radio station at the World Scout Jamboree at Sutton Coldfield in 1957. JOTA is the largest international Scouting event in the world with over 500,000 Scouts and Guides taking part. |
JOTA & Radio Scouting Jamboree on the Air is the highlight of the Radio Scouting calendar, when Scouts have the opportunity to practice many of the skills they have discovered during the year. The Northampton Scout Amateur Radio Group has taken part in JOTA since 1981. |

On the Air with Echolink? This year we have a broadband internet connection available and will be making use of the Internet facilities to enhance our Jamboree on the Air station again this year. We hope to be on the air with Echolink which will allow us to contact Scouts around the world using amateur radio via the internet.
