APRIL 1939 - "WE INTRODUCE TO YOU"
Miss P. M. CHAPMAN, Supervisor, Chief Commercial Manager's Central Duplicating Bureau, Euston, joined the service as a ticket sorter in the Audit Department, and has held a supervisor's position since 1927.
Miss A. HOWARTH, Supervisor, District Goods Manager's Office, Liverpool, was during the Great War District Inspector of Waiting Rooms for the Northern Division of the L.N.W.R., later being transferred to the Goods Manager's Department.
Miss I. LAIRD, Telephone Inspectress, Chief Operating Manager's Dept., Euston, joined the service in Glasgow as a telegraph learner, and worked as a telegraph and telephone operator. Miss LAIRD has the responsibility of maintaining and increasing the efficiency of the service given by women telephone operators.
Miss Ivy PAYNE, Supervisor, Executive Typing Bureau, has held a supervisor's position since 1916. During her service she has been employed as a clerk, a comptometer operator, and shorthand-typist. Miss PAYNE has held her present position in the Central Office under Mr. Glynne ROBERTS since 1927.
Miss M. RAE, Supervisor, Chief Accountant's Divisional Office, Glasgow, was one of the first of the women to be employed by the railway.
Miss L.J. RIEDER, Supervisor, Camden Accounts Office, joined the service in 1888, and retires this year, having completed 50 years' service.
Sister M. STAFFORD, Ambulance Sister-in-Charge, Carriage and Wagon Works, Wolverton, has 14 years' service, having previously been at Derby and Barassie.
Miss E. WOLSTENCROFT, Ladies Waiting Room Inspectress, has the responsibility of supervising the waiting rooms in the Southern Section, and maintaining the service offered to the public on a high standard.

Miss JACK, Clerk, Passenger Department of the D.G. & P.M.O., Edinburgh, has long experience, and has mastered the art of dealing with enquiries which are received from the public.
Miss J. COPELAND, Reservation Clerk, Irish Traffic Manager's Town Office, Dublin.
