 Overview of “One fo Many” Project

The aim of this project is to show some of the overall Army structure during WW2, including many details regarding the Royal Army Service Corps, and 46 Division, 1st Army.

I have hopefully given some useful details and references, to aid others trying to gather similar information.

It is not my intention to tell the personal wartime story. I have no direct knowledge of the 'life or times' of these events, and as such I have hopefully avoided any glorification or judgement. All events have become part of World history, and so time will have to be the judge.

The following pages represent part of my research to date. They contain information on W.W.II, and how the organization and developments of the conflict may have affected thousands of people just like my father who was just "One of Many"' all doing their bit'.

My father spoke very little about his service time, and it was only during his latter years, that he mentioned a few details so prompting this project.

I have tried to maintain accuracy, and will continue to change details as appropriate. I would be grateful if you let me know of any omissions or errors.
