Stable Cottage is not a restaurant in the normal sense of the word in that apart from Afternoon Teas (see Afternoon Tea at Stable Cottage), it caters only for Private Functions. We are no longer able to provide a regular Sunday Lunch but we can still cater for small private functions, usually in The Tack Room which is the Dining Room at Stable Cottage. The Tack Room is actually the tack room from the building when is was a working stable and still contains many original articles associated with horses and riding. These include saddles, tack, hunting pinks, racing silks and so on, displayed in a large cabinet along one wall. This room has a unique atmosphere and is ideal for that special occasion or celebration being candlelit and having a large welcoming open log fire in winter. In this case there is no set menu or cost. If you would like to hold a function here contact Sue to discuss your requirements regarding date, menu, wines and numbers and the occasion will be tailored to suit your particular needs. Again, because of space restrictions we are limited to twenty or so guests at these functions. |
