When I did my technical apprenticeship with Lucas Aerospace they had a policy of sending you to a training school for the first year to be sorted out! It was tough but fair; the biggest were selected as leaders who would dish out punishments for lateness or anyone who did not do what they were told. Within a week a third of the starters had left. I stayed because I end what I start. If the Craft is your true Path you will see it through and learn what you need to know, when you qualify you know you have achieved something worthwhile. But to end there is a crime, you must give others the same chance to learn the Craft like you were given, it’s your duty to the Goddess and the god. (BTW robes normally made and worn).

Joining a coven is similar to this example, it is no picnic and you will only get out what you put in. But as a group of likeminded people, friendships soon blossom and things become fun and interesting. The problem is once covens are full after the odd ones have fell by the wayside, they tend to become secretive and insular. If you want to change old attitudes and help Wicca into the 21st century joining a coven (given the chance), is the best way. I, Orionmoon are far sighted enough to see what is needed otherwise the Wise Craft will die out in large parts of this country. There seems to be a class system at work with certain elitist thinking, some have a Goddess given right to hold back Wicca and control it for their own ends. This is rubbish; the Wise Craft is the religion of the masses, the poor people as well as the well heeled. We are all Equal in the eyes of the Goddess, any hierarchy is wrong the coven is the only micro hierarchy needed to aspire to knowing the Goddess through Wicca.

People like Crowley, have done as much harm as good in Pagan circles introducing ancient monotheist Hebrew style magic, which has nothing to do with ancient English Pagan rites, which has its own Magical roots, passed down from our Ancients who built Stonehenge and the many other sacred sites around the British Isles, Celts? Maybe but they could just as easily have been Atlantians? That's for you to work out for yourself? When I stand in the middle of Stonehenge at the summer solstice I am doing what my Ancestors have always done, I am performing a Ritual of the type that was going on thousands of years BC.
