This section is up for negotiation. In other words - what do you people who are regulars in alt.fan.noah-wyle want me to put here. I am thinking about a variety of things at the moment, but fundamentally three things leap to mind. The Charter. This is a brief piece of writing that goes into the control message that makes the newsgroup. It is both a justificatory text and a functional one, as I believe in some way it is possible to search through the charters of various groups. Because it is written into the first control message, the charter is, to some extent, non-negotiable. However, there is no reason to say that we have to stick to it. The first and most important part of a newsgroup, in my opinion, is its ability to self-regulate - rather than behaving to edicts from on high. I include it here for people who are just coming to the group and want to avoid irritating the regulars. The FAQs. Of course this all rather depends on someone being desperately lovely and preparing one. I suppose I might get around to it. Although to be honest, so far there haven't really been any frequently asked questions at all! An e-mail directory. I don't know if people would be interested in this - but I was thinking that if people on the group wanted to, they could give me their address and I could post up a mailto: "directory" for the sterling regulars. I can stick a "norobots" tag on the site if you are worried about spam. Just a thought.

alt.fan.noah-wyle caters for fans of Noah Wyle and the characters he plays in TV shows and movies. It was started in order to allow discussion of Noah's life and acting in general as opposed to just in ER. For this reason, appropriate topics are his film and television career and discussion of the roles he plays (including the actions of John Carter, the character he platys on ER). However as this is not an ER site, inappropriate topics include discussions of the other actors or characters in the series, except in relation to Noah Wyle. To repeat: this is a site concerned specifically with Noah Wyle, and not (except by association) with ER. It is not a moderated site.
