IN THE COUNTY OF LANCASHIRE

CHORLEY, ORMSKIRK AND SOUTH RIBBLE PETTY SESSIONAL DIVISIONS

This site developed as a result of historical research done, and information leaflets and displays prepared by all involved, for the Ormskirk Magistrates' Court Open Day on 25 September 1999. This was the first open day in the 150 years since the courthouse was built and the number of visitors showed that there was a lot of public interest in the court and local judicial system so it was felt that the work done should be made available to a wider audience (and also kept for the future).
