The first Torrens Hot Rod bought great success from the formula's Northern Ireland debut at Aghadowey's 1975 Easter race meeting. The Mark One Ford Escort sported a brown and white livery with the "Sticky's Snip Joint" logo along the side. The car also boasted backing from Dee Pee racewear across the bonnet whilst underneath nested a Manx Racing prepared Ford Kent engine.

The 411 Escort took Sticky to many race victories including an incredible run (16 wins from 20 starts) in the early part of 1976. He also won the 1975 and 1976 Irish Championship races and National Points Charts. The 411 machine also represented the province in international events on the mainland including the 1976 Scottish Open at Cowdenbeath and the British Championship at Arlington.
Unfortunately we do not have any colour pictures of the car but would be grateful to hear from anyone who might have some.
