The purpose of this assignment is for you to assess:
1 your counselling competence and conceptual development over the period of the course; and
2 your self-knowledge / self-understanding in a wider social context.
Read some of the books listed in the Certificate course book list, in particular Person-Centred Counselling in Action, to help you to understand the process of person-centred counselling; and also texts (possibly including material drawn from the world wide web) that help you to understand the processes both of personal development and of journaling.
Utilising the headings (and subheadings) enumerated below, write a structured report of 3,000 (± 300) words that addresses clearly and in detail your development throughout the period of the course. Try to draw widely from your learning record, and from your personal journal, giving specific examples wherever possible. In each section of the report, try to illustrate, explain, or challenge personal experience with explicit use of theoretical material (ideas) drawn from books (and other texts) that you have read in preparation for the assignment.
