Personal development / self-understanding

1. Personal development group experiences

a) Unstructured experience of self in relation to others, with support and challenge

2. Structured, reflective personal journal

The personal journal is written privately, and its contents are not subject to scrutiny. However, at the end of the course, the personal journal must be made briefly available to the course tutors in order to demonstrate that a personal journal has been maintained throughout the course.

4. Theory content of course

a) The taught theory content of the course contains material of a personal development nature.

b) Some parts of the course will be taught with a personal development focus

5. Supervision of client work

Counselling supervision inevitably involves addressing the ways in which one is affected by work with clients in the counselling room.
