Infancy

·   What are you able to remember from your very early life? What does how much you can recall tell you about you? What do your early memories tell you about you?

·   What are your memories of feelings from your very early life? To what extent do those feelings play a part in your life now?

·   Many children are scolded: “Don't behave like a baby!” What were the underlying messages being communicated to you/being understood by you, if you were told this?

·   Can you recall circumstances when you experienced a profound sense of trust during your early years?

·   Can you recall circumstances when you experienced a profound lack of trust during your early years?

·   Can you recall circumstances when you experienced a sense of your own power during your early years?

·   Can you recall circumstances when you experienced a profound sense of shame during your early years?

·   Can you recall circumstances when you experienced a profound sense of guilt during your early years?

·   Can you recognise any ways in which feelings of mistrust, shame and guilt influence you now? If so, in what ways?

·   Are you able to identify circumstances which have challenged your perception of your personal identity?

·   During what stages in your life do you believe your personal identity to have been most influenced?
