Introduction

This document is aimed primarily at people in counselling training. It is written from the perspective of considering ways in which a person-centred counsellor might make use of some of the understandings and practice involved in a range of imagery approaches. The document brings together many ideas drawn from a variety of sources (including material written by the late Malcolm Sweeting, by Tim Bond and by Catherine Shea) in order to give shape and coherence to ideas which may feel fragmented. The document is best used for general comprehension, and as a signpost to identify and locate well-respected and generally-accepted texts. It is not intended to be a citable document. Instead, an extensive bibliography is offered.
