I did not enjoy Orlando. In particular I disliked many things about Disneyland, which reminds me most of the Pleasure Island scene in Disney’s own animation Pinocchio. Sea World is okay, but hardly worth travelling thousands of miles for, and I should rather watch wild dolphins behaving naturally, than dolphins that have been brainwashed into performing stupid human-inspired tricks. The manatees were interesting to see, never having seen them before. The prospect of being attacked by an Everglades crocodile took several steps towards us as we ran low on fuel while on an unforeseen detour due to road-works. Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Centre were worth visiting, but very pricey, and nothing like as good as they could be..
Key West is pleasant enough, and has a pleasant tropical ambience, with pleasant-enough people. The Overseas Highway is massively over-rated: much better views are to be had by watching Arnold Schwartzenegger, towards the end of True Lies, rescue Jamie Lee Curtis from a runaway car speeding towards a blown-up part of the bridge. Key West has feral chickens. Why?
