The Harris family links to the Bywaters' when Olive Harris married Peter Bywaters in 1947 just after Peter had left the army having served nearly 13 years as a professional soldier. Before her marriage she had worked for John Pollock & Son at 29 Queens Street, London for 18 years. During the war she joined the women's voluntary service as part of the mobile canteen unit working in the Twickenham area during bombing raids.
