Background

This section tells a little of my musical past and acts as a short introduction. So if you don’t want to know my life history you can skip to the next bit!
At the age of five my family took me to the World Pipe band Championships in Glasgow. I decided that one day I would play the pipes. After bags of time and effort on the practice chanter I moved on to the pipes. There followed years of suffering for my family and neighbours as I struggled to tame the tartan beast.
Three pipe bands later I take to the small pipes or cold air pipes. The small pipes mellow tone and sympathetic key is ideal for playing along with many other instruments. After a spell with a Celtic rock fusion group I recently formed a small Celtic band and we are available for hire too.
Piping has been good to me; it has taken me all round France and parts of the Netherlands, as far away as Cairo and closer to home, the Orkneys. I am fortunate to be a part of so many joyful occasions and I enjoy making others happy with my music.
