Notes

  • Memorial stone to Arthur and Eliza Hutchby in Ilkeston Park cemetery.  Engraved `IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR DEAR PARENTS ARTHUR HUTCHBY WHO DIED MARCH 21st 1931 AGED 70 YEARS ALSO OF HIS BELOVED WIFE ELIZA HUTCHBY WHO DIED MARCH 31st 1933 AGED 71 YEARS`.  `FATHER IN THY GRACIOUS KEEPING LEAVE WE NOW OUR LOVED ONES SLEEPING`.

Arthur was shown on the census as a lace maker.  It has been reportedthat he was one of the men asked if he would go to Russia to help in the setting up of lace making machinery c1880  but he turned down the offer.  See e-mail copies in folder.  It is known that W & T Fetchers of Derby and Heanor opened up factories in Russia about the 1880s and probably needed skilled hands for these operations.

Copy of birth certificate.  Copy of marriage certificate.  Witnesses Henry Clower + Mary White.  Arthur`s address shown as 9 Clifford Street New Radford.  Occupation at that time lace maker.  Copy of death certificate.
Details of Arthur and Eliza`s children taking part in multiple baptism are on copy of Cossall Parish Church record.
