Evening wear is where we really indulge ourselves - and Pamela's no
exception...
|
Just the thing for a party! Picked up
from normal suppliers for a song and delightful to wear, especially with
the stiff frills (thrills?) around the thighs.
 |
A little something I picked up recently
(spring 2000) in the
US! - Absolutely Fabulous to wear, and very flattering of Pamela's figure,
don't you agree?
Again, a dress that requires considerable care in
selection of underwear, normally with minimalist tendencies....

| Sometimes it's just the little black dress (LBD)
that you want - here's one of Pamela's favourites, bought in the US some years ago - this
is ruched, which I think makes all the difference. It's lovely to wear with nicely padded
hips and bottom. Pamela wore it at Ron Storme's during her 1997-8
Season Alternatively jumpsuits can be
equally stylish:

This one is a velvet halter-neck which goes quite well equally with a granny shawl
or shoulder-length black evening gloves....

 |
| Pamela has rather a lot of jumpsuits but the most elegant was made
for me in a delightful green crushed and striped velvet, with a cowl back. |
 |
 |
But above all, it should be elegant.
For Pamela this often means plain, smooth, with a minimum of jewellery, as typified by
this 'John Charles' designer dress picked up from agency. For more details see Pamela's
1997-8 Season. |
Two of my nicest of dresses. One a
backless dress in green stretch velvet with cross-straps over the back, which is very
comfortable to wear and gives a rather striking image, especially with 'emeralds' and a
redhead Pamela. (Bought in the US)
The second is a 99p 'charity special' which again
complements Pamela in auburn and needs a minimum of jewelley
Just a glorious picture, set against the Gothic staircase at

lighting from below is probably the finest way of detecting inadequate ironing.) |
Probably the best 'charity
shop find' Pamela's ever 'won', here modelled on the glorious Gothic (?) staircase of the
hotel used for the Northern Concord
weekend. This satin number - strapless dress and matching bolero
jacket in black, is a really beautiful dress, but was picked up for the princessly sum of
just £8. |

| Sometimes evening wear doesn't have to be a
full-length evening dress to be elegant and comfortable. Here Pamela shows how well a
two-piece ensemble can work. The skirt is full, ankle length and heavy, but rather slinky
to wear. The top is actually one piece - being a combined waistcoat and blouse - very
smart. The occasion was the late summer dinner of the Northern Concord, held near
Manchester in September 1997 - Pamela's first opportunity to try out her newly acquired
digital camera :-) (Of course both sartorial items are from her preferential suppliers -
for fuller details see my Advice Columns). |
