Scarborough

Martine Rose (Roses - see links) has been running a 'Harmony Weekend' at Scarborough for many years and Pamela's been going for the last five (I think !). It was the first big TV weekend she went to, and for nostalgic reasons as well as the location, she enjoys it. I know which friends are likely to be there and we get on very well indeed. This year proved to be no exception.

Amongst the (non-sartorial) highlights were a walk in the woods with 'The Gang' (Pamela in green chenile pullover and black stretch leggings with boots), shopping in the town centre and a walk along the seafront (similar outfit) and a crazy late night walk through the seafront gardens with 6 other TVs (when Pamela wore her lovely warm bright red cloak over a pants suit.) It really was a nice weekend. Here are some other pictures.

This is a velvet halter neck jumpsuit I picked up a year or so ago (in C&A I think). It goes very well for parties, even with a 'granny shawl', provided you make sure the hips and bottom are properly shaped. I like it a lot, and with my new tousled redhead wig, I think it looks effective, and certainly relaxed.

At the previous Scarborough event I made the error of succumbing to advice from some of my TV friends (thanks Helen and Debra !) to go to a very local dress agency, where there were 'lots of Pamela-type dresses'. Well I ended up with this lovely dove grey designer dress (John Charles) which is very effective when worn with a minimum of jewellery, in this case a simple pendant necklace and matching discreet earrings. It has an open cowl back (down to the waist), so it needs effective 'support mechanisms'.

This year I decided to wear it at the Scarborough event - very plain, stylish and effective. I also yielded to temptation again and visited the dress agency. There was a gorgeous powder-blue lace and satin evening jumpsuit (wide legs tapering etc.) Really nice, but size 12. Tried it on, but it was too tight around the bust - ah well - you can't win them all, and there's always a next time.

9711a039_small.jpg (16644 bytes) There is a 'Miss Rose' event, which the previous year Pamela had entered all in gold. She didn't place, but this year was determined to try with something different. This one-shouldered number (which the more nimble amongst you may already have spotted elsewhere on the web site) is very sexy and requires careful planning of nether garments (of which there are very few, namely two, including pantyhose.) Luckily the dress is tight and stretchy enough to give very good and firm support to my silicone boobs.

But with everything matching, including all the jewellery being plain scarlet, I knew it looked good.....

Plenty of really nice comments from people (I think a number would really have liked to wear the dress themselves), and a slinky canter down the 'catwalk'. But it was all for naught, except for the personal satisfaction - Pamela again didn't place. Perhaps she'll never darken their doors again !
