Yet again Preston comes around - a nice weekend with the
pleasures of Blackpool on hand. This time warnings of more than twenty thousand
Young Farmers, suggested a trip there would be more advisable en homme,
so that it what we did. But we still had the usual fun and frolics of dressing
up. This time there were two highlights:
| The first was a gorgeous suit in PVC ostrich skin, found in a
lovely shop in a mall. The dress is strapless, the jacket close fitting. |

The second, real triumph, was the late Victorian dress in
black taffeta with a gorgeous bustle. This was magnificent to wear, and a real
piece of engineering underneath (I should know - I made it!). My dressmaker
really excelled herself with this one.
