Mixalbum.com Launch

MixAlbum.com is a dance music download site with a twist, users can create their own music mixes featuring any of the tracks they have purchased and downloaded from the site. The mix can then be downloaded and burnt to CD or copied to your Mp3 player. This free mixing service is powered by CAMMS (Computer Aided Music Mixing System) and is the first of its kind. Its like having your own personal DJ, you select the tracks and the order you would like them in and Mixalbum.com does the rest. Sony BMG, EMI, Ministry of Sound, Defected, Southern Fried and others are currently signed up to the site ready for the launch date of August 1st 2007. There is also some great new features inlcuding Auto-Arrange and the ability to choose the start and end speeds of the mix, so you can create a mix that increases in speed, ideal for a workout down the gym.

Founder Ian Chamings says: “I think that some people have been put off buying dance singles for this reason - DJs can mix the tracks themselves, but end-listeners who can't mix (or can't be bothered) need to buy compilations, and most of the time there will be a few tracks you don't want. We've had so many emails along the lines of ‘about time’, or ‘just what I was waiting for’.”
